Muse: Showbiz

This was the first time I really came into contact with rock, and probably the first album I bought which I still consider to be objectively very good.  My very first gig was on 27 May 2001, when I saw Muse at the Colston Hall in Bristol with my schoolfriends.  I was completely blown away by the experience, to the extent that now the gig itself is just a blur of sound and colour.  No doubt if I realised they’d be selling out vast venues nowadays, I’d have paid more attention.  Despite Showbiz’s ubiquity in 2001, I didn’t listen to it again until 2010; and then I realised what I’d been missing and bought all the rest of Muse’s albums in one fell swoop.
