While their erstwhile rivals Love faded slowly into the shadows (personnel changes, lacklustre albums etc.), the Doors rampaged on. Morrison Hotel is a halfway house really, from 1970, each side of the original vinyl album being given over to, nominally at least, a separate site of songs. The quality is such throughout that it deserves ‘classic’ status, I reckon.
